Professional Bio

Shan is an accomplished nonprofit executive with over a decade of leadership expertise in association management and the nonprofit sector. She currently serves as Executive Director of the Georgia Apartment Association (GAA) and Foundation (GAAF), leading strategic initiatives to strengthen Georgia’s multifamily housing industry.

Previously, Shan was Senior Director of Member Relations and Engagement at the Atlanta Apartment Association (AAA), the third-largest apartment association in the U.S., where she managed a $1.3M+ annual budget, drove membership growth, and strengthened member engagement and community impact.

Shan holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) and undergraduate degrees in Business Administration and Organizational Leadership in Public Service Administration. She holds the Advanced Certified Nonprofit Professional (ACNP) designation, underscoring her commitment to leadership and organizational excellence.

A recognized leader in the association community, Shan serves on multiple committees and volunteers with the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the Georgia Society of Association Executives (GSAE). She is an ASAE Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP) Scholar and recipient of the GSAE Alan R. Johnson Servant Leadership Award and Sharon Hunt Emerging Leader Award.
